He has worked at some of the biggest dev shops in Australia. Currently at Envato, he spends as much time as he can get away with inflicting functional programming paradigms on various codebases.
Alongside a love of solving deep technical problems, Julian has also had an interest in tech recruitment and how to build teams better. He recently spent time on secondment working with Envato’s HR team as a technical recruiter to hire 50 developers in 6 months.
Julian has spoken at various conference and meetups. He also runs the Elixir Melbourne meet up.
Originally from Wellington, New Zealand, he has called Melbourne home for 15 years.
