Joy Whitt is a Developer at the Office of the Chief Technology Office (OCTO), and an Economic Intelligence Analyst at the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED). She works on open data APIs, and visualization & analysis projects utilizing real estate, affordable housing, and business development data. She also organizes civic hackathons on behalf of the Mayor’s office and with various tech inclusive groups like TechLady Hackathon in Washington, DC.
In 2015, Joy transitioned into a career in tech by learning to code with organizations and individuals committed to teaching coding and programming to women and people of color.
Although born and raised in Michigan, Joy has called DC her home since 2009. She resides in Bloomingdale with the most handsome pup ever, Ellis.
