Joshua Decker

Instructor

New York City

Josh has a track record of building and launching innovative products and brands that do good in the world. He's worked on products like Foursquare, Swarm, Meetup, and WeWork, and he loved his time at various NYC digital agencies. His education in psychology established a foundational understanding of how and why people do what they do. This interest crystallized in his early 20s into a career of – product design, user research, product management, and branding – that he's deeply passionate about. Currently, he is an executive at a venture studio and runs strategic initiatives at Galaxy Gives, Mike Novogratz's family philanthropy. Galaxy Gives donates approximately $15 million a year to three different movement spaces: Justice Reform, Democracy, and Mental Health. Josh builds brands and products that accelerate or strengthen these movement areas.

Deeply curious, he is always asking questions to see what lies under the surface. This allows him to discover important lessons and deeper meaning – often overlooked. Our biases drive so much of our behavior and decision making; can you challenge them enough to see something more? Through storytelling, he tries to share his learnings with others so their path may be a bit less burdensome.

-

When not at work, you can find him working on his other passions: community building and co-living, travel and cultural immersion, wellbeing and personal fitness.
