Jonathon Allara is the co-founder and director of Bicycles Online, a direct-to-consumer online bicycle retail business.
The business started trading as a small eBay store in late 2011 out of an old disused electrical substation in Manly, on Sydney's Northern beaches. Over the past 5 years, the business has experienced strong growth and currently sells over 20,000 bicycles per year through its B2C website bicyclesonline.com.au, eBay and its wholesale business. The business will turn over $7M this year.
Bicycles Online featured in the BRW Fast Starters in 2013 and then again in 2015 and was also a finalist in the Telstra Business Awards.
Jonathon left a corporate career at KPMG at age 23 and has been involved in startups ever since. Apart from Bicycles Online, he also owns two other successful businesses in the tourism sector, Sydney Bike Tours and Manly Bike Tours.
