Jonathan Kalan is Co-Founder of Unsettled, a global travel community for remote and independent professionals seeking to break out of their routine and live anywhere. He is a TED Resident and speaker, serial entrepreneur, and lifelong explorer who's ventured to over 75 countries combining work and travel. Before founding Unsettled, Jonathan was founding Editor-In-Chief of the award-winning news app Timeline, and an internationally recognized photographer and journalist who's worked across Africa, the Middle East and Asia reporting for BBC, The Atlantic, The New York Times, and Foreign Policy among others. He’s a member of the Explorers Club, as well as of the global Sandbox Network. You can usually find him skippering sailboats, searching for the nearest surf break, or supporting visionary individuals, companies, and concepts seeking to challenge the status quo and inspire more global perspectives.
