    When not instructing at General Assembly, Jon-Eric serves as the CEO of Progress UX Research, based in Austin, Texas. He is a seasoned user experience research professional, teacher and speaker with over 16 years of direct experience both as a practitioner and leader. He's worked with teams at Google, Microsoft, Amazon, SXSW and Polycom on all kinds of technologies from websites and apps to robots and home automation systems. While Jon-Eric loves to geek out on technology, what really sparks his interest is connecting around the human element and bringing people's real life stories to the forefront of the design conversation. He's currently developing new research methods that are derived from attunement and empathic relating techniques in order to help researchers discover what people really need in relation to the technologies that are developed for them.
