Johnny leads communications at Shyp, where he spends his time ideating and executing compelling communications campaigns to share the company’s mission with the world. Prior to Shyp, Johnny was on the product communications team at Square, where he worked on Square Register, consumer products like Square Order, and the company’s non payments-based international business. Before Square, Johnny solely led communications and PR at TaskRabbit from 2011-2014. As the first communications hire at TaskRabbit, Johnny built its brand equity from the ground up, handling the strategy for every major corporate milestone for over three years. Johnny got his start in communications at Edelman and LEWIS PR, two global public relations firms, where Johnny sat on the technology teams. He graduated from Southern Methodist University with degrees in Journalism and Political Science. In 2015, PR Week named Johnny to the Innovation 50, an industry ranking of the best technology and digital communications professionals.
