John Gossart is the Cofounder and Chief Operating Officer of Fintech startup GoodWorld (www.goodworld.me). GoodWorld was named one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies and D.C.'s Best Technology Startup. Prior to GoodWorld, John launched smart cities tech startup RideScout with three other vets, and the company was acquired by Daimler-Mercedes in 2015.
Before becoming an entrepreneur, John served 22 years in the US military and government, work that took him to various locations across Africa, Pakistan, Yemen, Afghanistan, Iraq, Asia and Europe, most recently serving as a deputy director of special operations and counterterrorism policy in the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
With degrees from Boston College and Georgetown University, he has served as an Assistant Professor at West Point and is a current Adjunct Professor of Public Policy at Georgetown.
John's indie rock band StoneDriver (www.stonedriver.com) recently released their second studio album "Chasing Demons" (available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Tidal, etc) and was named City Paper's Best DC Band in 2018.
