    John D Hazard is a data scientist that's passionate about using natural language processing and computational linguistics to help solve problems that plague our most vulnerable populations. After graduating from General Assembly's Data Science Immersive program, he dove into independent learning; and teaching with GA. His years of collegiate teaching experience at both the graduate and undergraduate levels combined with his linguistic and data science education make him at home in any organization looking to leverage data, particularly language, to move the needle towards the betterment of society. His hobbies and interests are myriad and include comic books, table-top role-playing games, horror films, southern literature, and attending abrasive punk and metal shows in Washington DC. He lives with his beautiful wife and affable cat.

    What excites him most about teaching data science is that the skills learned by our students can be used to not only enhance improve their lives but the lives of others and the world.
