Jess is a Data Scientist and Senior Design Lead with global design company IDEO where she leads multidisciplinary teams in the pursuit of the human-centered design of intelligent products, systems, & services. She has a Psychology background and is passionate about unlocking the potential latent in data and making it more accessible to empower users and to activate underrepresented communities as designers of AI. Jess co-organizes the Chicago Data Science and Women in Machine Learning & Data Science (WiMLDS) Meetups and has played an integral role in shaping IDEO’s core data principles and AI & Ethics activities for designers.
