Financial Inclusion and Gender Consultant

New York City

A veteran of the tech industry, Janiece loves bringing humanity, creativity, strategy, and innovation together to build products and services that create shared value, empower the enduser, and improve the human condition. A former software engineer and one of the tech industry’s first user experience directors, Janiece spent the first 12 years of her career designing and building information systems and digital applications across a variety of industry verticals for such bluechip firms as Andersen Consulting, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Razorfish, and BlackRock.

Her passion for the power of finance and technology to accelerate economic and social change eventually led her to the microfinance industry. In 2008, Janiece joined Women’s World Banking, the world’s largest microfinance network, as their Director of the Women’s Market where her work centered around designing credit and assetbuilding products, services, and ICT4D strategies to help retail banks and NGOs bank the unbanked in developing and emerging markets, with a specific focus on the economic participation and empowerment of lowincome women and girls. Since 2012 she has worked as a financial inclusion and gender consultant for a variety of NGOs, retail banks, government agencies, social enterprise startups, and technical service providers, such as The U.S. Department of State, USAID, The U.S. Department of Commerce, and the International Executive Service Corps advising them on how best to build sustainable and profitable product portfolios that will serve the financial needs of the poor.
