Isaac views the American Dream as the opportunity for all people to help build a nation together. In his view, democracy requires strong civic feedback loops to function properly: citizens must engage, and governments must always design with the end-user in mind. Isaac aspires to maintain stewardship of our civic infrastructure and firmly advocates for transparency, open data, and accountability. Isaac is a devout urbanist, civic technologist, and combat service veteran.
He graduated from Duke with a BA in Public Policy Studies, served as a Surface Warfare Officer in the US Navy, and received a certificate in Urban Planning & Design from Harvard GSD. He ran for San Diego City Council in 2020. He currently works as the Policy & Research Manager at the San Diego County Taxpayers Association. He also heads Open San Diego, a volunteer organization dedicated to civic tech. He is blessed with a wife, son, and dog.
