Hovanes Gasparian is a Local Lead Instructor for GA’s Data Science Immersive program. His name is pronounced Ho-vawn-es, but most just call him Hov (yes, like Jay-Z). In his past life he worked in politics, at the federal as well as state levels. In his reincarnated past life, he was an aspiring academic, working on improving our K-12 education system at the Rossier School of Education at the University of Southern California. In his current incarnation, and for the foreseeable future, he is a data scientist! Regardless of how many lives he has left, he will always love helping others, working with and deriving insight from data, but, most importantly, having fun!
Some of his favorite Python libraries and tools include: Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-Learn, SciPy, StatsModels, and Keras/TensorFlow.
Some of his favorite tools for Data Visualization include: Matplotlib, Seaborn, and Folium.
Outside of teaching and data science, he loves playing soccer, swimming, gaming, and learning new things.
