With a background in Visual Communications, Gillean completed the General Assembly User Experience Design part-time course in 2016 to diversify her practice having spent a years as a digital designer for fashion brands. This allowed her to have diverse experiences in the user experience design space.
Gillean has worked in Sydney and London from start-ups to large corporates and government entities such as Lendlease, Ernst & Young (EY), Farfetch, Onefinestay, Hype DC, NSW Department of Primary Industries, Australian Electoral Commission and currently as a Service Designer for the Federal Department of Agriculture, Water and Environment.
Gillean is all about understanding what was, challenging the 'norm' and using human-centred design practices to design better for now and beyond. Gillean has recently come on board as a flex instructor for the User experience design course, giving back to General Assembly who helped her make a significant transition in her career.
