Gerrit Velthoen is a veteran designer with expertise in product design, user experience, user interface and digital marketing. Born and raised on the beaches of Southern California, Gerrit headed to the desert to pursue a degree in Visual Communications from the University of Arizona. Over his 20+ year career, Gerrit has worked with a number of notable brands including Disney, Electronic Arts, Warner Bros., Universal Music, DIRECTV and Symantec. It was at DIRECTV where Gerrit’s work on the NFL Sunday Ticket Experience helped to win the 2010 Sports Emmy Award for "Outstanding New Approaches Sports Event Coverage."
Gerrit brings an amazing amount of experience and passion for UX to every class that he teaches. Since he began with GA in 2018, he has supported hundreds of students to find their path in UX. In his spare time, Gerrit can usually be found riding his mountain bike in the Santa Monica Mountains and spending time with his wife and two children.
