Gavin is a media and TV personality from the UK - presenting sports, news and entertainment shows for the BBC.
He has an extensive background in broadcasting on TV and radio - working in front of the camera for over 15 years with the best names in the industry. He recently fronted Sky Sports and Sky News for the last few years - aswell as American TV with CBS News. Gavin’s also worked on ITV’s flagship morning and news programmes, aswell as helped to launch a start up station with the Evening Standard. He began his career in children’s TV back in 2004, presenting iconic show ‘Newsround’ for his main break.
Gavin is also a prominent player in the news and factual social media space, regularly documenting news vlogs, personal development and entertainment to his online fans. He has also recently started a new online millennial news network called Manzilla, with a hit podcast to go with it.
He’s also known for his work as a global speaker, talking to international business groups on making messages and stories count, his life experiences and working his way up from the bottom as a runner, his experiences with diversity and breaking barriers, his knowledge and forecasting on the current media landscape, and hosting awards and dinners.
Some of the biggest events Gavin has covered include the EU referendum, the Olympics, Wimbledon, world premieres of blockbuster films, and he has interviewed some of the biggest names on the planet including Angelina Jolie, Samuel L Jackson and Justin Bieber.
Over the course of his career, he has reached audiences in excess of a billion viewers worldwide, and was at one point the youngest ever presenter on BBC World output.
Born and bred in Worcestershire in the UK, he’s a keen footballer in his spare time, playing semi-professionally as a teenager and in university, and now plays regular charity and celebrity football around the country. Travel and learning about new cultures is something he is truly passionate about, an interest stemming from his roots in Ile Maurice, with relatives also across Europe. Random fact about him … he held the world’s loudest whistle in 2007!
