I spent 6 years in the Army with a year in Kunar Province, Afghanistan as a trauma nurse. When I left the military, I pursued a degree in Quantitative Finance and Math at The University of Texas at Austin. I'm an avid R user and enjoy teaching data science concepts and processes. I currently work for a company called Digital First Media, which owns various newspaper companies around the US as well as a company called Adtaxi. My current role is working on optimization code for the company to assist advertising campaign managers put cash where it's most useful. The technique we are transitioning to is one I formulated myself while working at the company.
