Erin Harbaugh

Erin Harbaugh has been a specialist in communicating complex policy issues to nonexperts for the past 10 years at Department of State, where she regularly works with media and external audiences. Previously, Erin served as public relations associate for a start-up high-tech company in California, where she is originally from. She has been active in creating opportunities for others to develop public speaking and presentation skills by founding the State Department Toastmasters club, where she served as president for 3 years. She has received training at the Foreign Service Institute to become an instructor, where she taught part-time for 3 years. She speaks regularly at international conferences and to various groups, including the UK House of Parliament. She is passionate about outreach and enjoys cultivating others’ presentation and public speaking skills. She has a BA from University of California Berkeley and an MA from the Monterey Institute of International Studies.
