Eric Peltzer joined RBC Capital Markets in October 2016 as the Chief of Staff, Capital Markets Technology. In his previous role at Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he was a Vice President in the Cross Divisional Architecture department, Eric was responsible for creating strategic solutions across multiple platforms and divisions in the firm. In that capacity, he led an effort to build the firm’s first consolidated Function Taxonomy and Ontology using a new purpose-built Artificial Intelligence system, implemented a system for Inter-entity service level agreements, and managed the implementation of a solution for the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA).

Prior to this, Eric was an officer in the United States Army Special Forces. Commissioned from the United States Military Academy at West Point, Eric ultimately retired from the service as a Lieutenant Colonel. He spent most of his career in the Army Special Forces, but also served as an Infantry officer and a U.S. Army Ranger. He participated in over 20 combat deployments and 500+ combat/operational missions in theaters including Afghanistan, Iraq, Bosnia, Kosovo, and many others. Eric also worked in NATO Special Operations units including his last command in 2013 in Afghanistan as the Commander of the Special Operations Forces Fusion Cell. He was privileged to command Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Civilians from all NATO participating nations.

Eric is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, the U.S. Army School of Advanced Military Studies, from which he holds a Masters of Military Arts & Science in Theater Warfare, and Webster University, from which he holds two Masters of Science degrees in Computer Science and Telecommunications.
