Eliza Shirazi

Creator, Kick It

Boston

Eliza Shirazi is a 20-somethin' year old entrepreneur from Boston, MA, best known for being a 'fitness firecracker'. Stemming from her love of dance, music, and community, she has created Kick It By Eliza to fuse all of her passions. Eliza's extensive dance career, AFAA certifications, and degrees in Public Health and Communication from the University of Massachusetts Amherst have helped her carefully construct her signature classes and brand.

Kick It, created in 2009, was offered at UMass Amherst for four years. During her time at UMass Amherst, Eliza partnered with several groups and organizations for kick-a-thons, or charity-based classes that catered to the masses. Partnerships included, Room to Read, Her Campus and Sisters on the Runway, with nearly 100 participants at each event. In 2012, Eliza brought Kick It to the University of Cape Town (UCT), South Africa, as she knew her method would be successful internationally. As expected, Kick It classes became the highlight of the recreation center and continues to engage students from UCT. Alongside Kick It, Eliza volunteered for the non-profit, Earthchild Project, and successfully introduced her style of movement to children living in townships.

Continuing her passion for public health, Eliza works in the Pulmonary Department at Brigham and Women's Hospital, fostering awareness of heart health, CPR, asthma, COPD, and general fitness education to various high schools and Boston housing communities. Eliza continues to teach Kick It and many other formats at Equinox locations, The Club by George Foreman III, and at pop up events for Move With.
