Elie Azzi

Creative Director, La La Land

Sydney

Elie Azzi is the Creative Director of La La Land where he is also co-director and co-founder. The company was born from a vision to support and celebrate local artists while fulfilling a growing demand for greeting cards where there was a need for a differentiated product. Since then, La La Land has become one of the leading creative houses in Australia with a purpose to promote happiness and creativity.

Having met his business partner Ludivine Chu while studying at university and working in the cosmetics industry over a decade ago, Elie and Ludi started working from a small home office and garage. The collaboration grew to now being an iconic brand synonymous with boutique gift stores across Australia and more recently expanding abroad and to large retailers such as Myer and Peter Alexander.

Holding a dual role as company and creative director has placed Elie in a unique position to marry the creative with the commercial. As such, he draws on trends in popular culture to collaborate with artists in order to generate creative expression and eye capturing images that will generate profitable products. La La Land’s remuneration model supports artists by paying them a royalty on product sales, therefore taking the artist on rather than isolating them from the journey of product commercialisation.

Elie is passionate about embracing happiness and creativity in business as well as in the every day.
