Seattle
I am currently on the Online Experimentation and Optimization team at Nordstrom. I have a long-tail experience in the identification, intensification, and presentation of data that is bias towards action. I started my career as a buyer in merchandising so part of my DNA still views the world as a merchant. My focus and interests range from researching novel statistical approaches such as bio-inspired algorithms, topic modeling, and short-term forecasting in solving online and ecommerce problems, to mastering the trade of using messy data (structured and unstructured), and learning about open source tools to wrangle them.
Outside of work, I can be found playing Gypsy jazz and swing jazz on my 1947 Gibson L-7 hollow body archtop guitar, roaming random flea markets to add to my American pre-WWII tin wind-up toy collection, or spending time online on my lifelong search for the perfect Caesar salad recipe.
