Eddy Travia is the co-founder of Seedcoin, a global Bitcoin startup virtual incubator currently helping eight seed-stage Bitcoin startups in the development of their cryptocurrency services and products around the world. These startups include bitcoin wallets, bitcoin exchanges, trading platforms, bitcoin payment processors and software companies.
Seedcoin organized the first Bitcoin conference in Asia on November 15 in Singapore where it gathered more than 200 attendees and more than 20 renown experts in the field of cryptocurrencies including Roger Ver, Kyle Drake, Edan Yago, Johann Gevers and Hakim Mamoni.
Eddy is also the founder of the Bitcoin Institute, a think-tank meant to promote the adoption of bitcoin and establishing best practices in Bitcoin-centric activities such as bitcoin trading.
Eddy has worked in graduate management education in Europe for 12 years for an accredited technology-focused MBA program before moving to Shanghai in 2004 to lead the Chinese arm of a private equity investment company. He completed the Stanford Financial Engineering program and managed VC investments in China and other emerging markets until he discovered Bitcoin and decided to focus on Bitcoin-centric startups and the great potential of these firms to transform the worlds of finance, payments and remittances.
