Prior to her role within KPMG’s Healthcare and Life Sciences Strategy team, Dr Friend worked in the BioTech industry as part of a start-up initiative combining mobile technology with biomarker research to revolutionize mental health diagnosis. Being responsible for management of key stakeholder relationships including Patient and Public Involvement efforts, evidence-based diagnostic algorithm, app content and UX/UI design, Lauren explored the more ‘human’ side of technology application – how innovative technology and data analytics can be applied to improve lives, and the requirements for successful integration into communities towards large-scale adoption.
Lauren has a grounding in research science, having undertaken an undergraduate degree in Biological Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge, and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience at University College London.
