Dina Begum is a cookbook author and writer who is passionate about championing the recipes and food culture of Bangladesh which is underrepresented internationally. She is a member of the Guild of Food Writers and her debut cookbook ‘The Brick Lane Cookbook,’ (Kitchen Press in
2018) celebrates the diverse food culture of London’s iconic Brick Lane. Dina is a leading voice in Bangladeshi food and is increasingly called upon to write for nationwide publications. Her recipes/writing have been featured in The Telegraph, The Independent, The Herald,
Huffington Post, Metro and The Scotsman, amongst others.
She has been featured in a micro documentary on Ramadan food by global storytellers Great Big Story, written a feature and recipes series for Great British Chefs - based on the six seasons of Bangladeshi cuisine and filmed a spice blends video series for Yodomo. Dina has hosted popular Bangladeshi pop ups to showcase home cooking favourites, mentioned in Eater London and Eventbrite as one of their hottest supperclubs in London. She has also presented a programme at The Museum of Food and Drink (MOFAD) on immigrant foodways and hosted a supperclub at Archestratus in New York. Dina currently writes a recipe column for the leading English language newspaper in Bangladesh, The Daily Star.
