Meet the Mayor’s Chief of Staff, Dan Koh. He’s the innovation community’s champion in the Mayor’s Office and the driving force behind CityScore, a City of Boston initiative that uses data to evaluate how well the city is performing in a range of program areas — from fire department response time, to school attendance, to fixing potholes. CityScore is a major part of Mayor Walsh’s efforts to bring a data-driven approach to city government, along with a hazard information platform for firefighters called Building Intelligence System, a data-sharing agreement with Waze to improve traffic flow in the city, and more.
