    Senior Partnerships Specialist, General Assembly

    Online

I am a Senior Partnerships Specialist and Community Developer living in Nashville, TN. After completing an undergrad degree in Psychology and a graduate degree in Community Development, I naturally transitioned into Workforce Development within the technology sector at General Assembly as I was confident that the mix of consulting and advocacy work that I do here was a form of microactivism for the underrepresented, diverse workforce.

As a board member for the Young Professionals of Urban League Middle Tennessee chapter, my volunteer and activism work in racial justice, reproductive justice and anti-poverty has driven me to take part in progressive political change. The culmination of these personal and professional passions keeps me in a constant state of innovation to elevate our graduates, confront antiquated hiring practices and ultimately create a mirror between people who use tech and create tech. Economic mobility and the mere opportunity to create generational wealth is one really important factor for folks, regardless of where they come from and what they look like to live intentional and meaningful lives.

One of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite authors is,

"When I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid."

    ― Audre Lorde"
