Charity Nicolas is a first-generation Filipina immigrant, and the first of her family to attend college in the United States with an undergraduate degree in Biology from UC Berkeley, and a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Hawaii.
Her career in Environmental, Health and Safety protections has spanned over 28 years including work with the Center for Disease Control, local government agencies and global Fortune 100 Tech companies. Protecting people and our environment from harm has fueled her purpose. In her current role, she is a technical subject matter expert, project manager, executive team leader, DEI lead, and business development strategist for the Tech sector. Her technical focus areas include audits and gap assessments, strategic safety program implementation, and empowering people to incorporate health and safety principles into their daily lives.
She has been an active volunteer and leader in the technical and non-profit arena. She has been past President and on the Executive Committee of several Boards, as well as the founder of Tech-In-Color. In 2020, she was honored to receive the LEAD Filipino Fly Pinay Lifetime Achievement Award. She believes that building caring, engaged, and diverse communities is the key to sustainable change. This drives her passion to mentor the next generation of thoughtful, dedicated, and ethical leaders in her profession and volunteer organizations. She encourages her mentees to be grounded in their core values, visionary in their ideals, courageous in their actions, persistent in their quest for knowledge, and passionate about making the world a better place.
