Carol is the founder of Covetella, Singapore's Premier Fashion Rental Destination.
Discovering that most women prefer to have a new outfit for each occasion but didn't want to spend a fortune every time, she set out to build a service where women could simply rent a designer dress whenever they needed for a fraction of the price. Thus, Covetella was created as an effort to empower women by enabling them to have their own Cinderella experience for any event, as well help promote a more sustainable future through the sharing economy.
Dubbed an “International Style Icon” by E! News and a “Rising Star” designer by SF Fashion Week, Carol has launched various fashion companies around the world. Starting off making couture gowns, Carol had her designs exhibited at the renowned de Young Museum and her first ready-to-wear line was sold in over 300 stores across the US. She also built her own custom uniform factory in China and helped create one of Hong Kong’s first MMA brands.
Carol has been featured on Forbes, Inc., the Straits Times, and numerous other publications for her entrepreneurial efforts. With Covetella, she won first place at the ASEAN Marketing Events Awards and was a top finalist on Channel NewsAsia’s reality show, START-UP. Carol was also selected as one of the delegates to represent Asia at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit with President Obama and has been a guest speaker at Google, INSEAD, and USC Marshall School of Business.
