    Carlos Y. Vale has successfully pivoted across a variety of industries--a journey that started in retail management, continued on to HR, government, and higher education administration, and most recently includes work in the technology sector. Currently, Carlos serves as Groupon's Head of Diversity Recruitment, where he leads the company’s global diversity recruiting strategy to build pipelines of talent for critical positions across all levels. His passion for advancing diverse top talent comes from his own experiences--he credits his career progression to incredible people who supported his growth by exposing him to great opportunities and encouraging him to take on new and different challenges.

    Outside of work, Carlos serves as co-chair of The George Washington University’s Chicago Alumni Network, and is a board member of ALPFA (Association of Latino Professionals for America) Chicago and the Illinois Diversity Council. Carlos is involved with the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, where he has been recognized as an emerging leader. Most recently, Carlos was recognized as a Latino 40 Under 40 in Chicago due to his continued efforts and visibility in the community.

    In his free time, Carlos enjoys playing volleyball, riding his bike around town, hitting up the movie theater, getting together for game nights with friends, and traveling.
