Carl is a high school computer science teacher at The Nueva School in San Mateo, California. Prior to that, he worked as a data scientist in Chicago with President Obama's former Chief Scientist, where he co-authored a paper on using machine learning to predict high school student retention and dropout likelihood. He's also the co-author of The Data Science Handbook, available on Amazon.
He graduated from with high honors from UC Berkeley with a degree in Statistics.
