CAIO SIMBULA is an American living in Sweden, where he currently wears the shoes of a VFX Editor after having worked over a decade in various aspects of the film and broadcast industries. From a successful career in package printing, he decided he was bored of putting pretty pictures on tomorrow’s garbage and decided to enter the much more exciting (and insane) field of filmmaking. He has worn many hats in both production and post-production ranging from camera operator, broadcast promo editor, to production coordinator at SFSU’s Cinema program.
As if working in any aspect of the film/broadcast industry wasn’t exciting [crazy] enough, he decided to drop any remnant of job security and move his family half-way around the world to Stockholm, Sweden with no job connections as extra motivation and fire under his seat to make things work.
Now Caio gets to work with the coolest and most amazing looking visual effects work at a company called Goodbye Kansas Studios where he has worked on one of the most successful video game trailers ever, Wes Anderson’s recent film, and more.
