Byron Fernandes

Freelance User Experience Designer & Instructor

London

After graduating from university and a brief interlude as a travelling chef, Byron worked in marketing for a few years before getting struck by the UX bug.

In 2009 took an MSc in Human-Computer Interaction at UCL, and hasn’t looked back since. He has spent much of his career as a freelancer, giving him exposure to a wide range of organisations and sectors - leading a complete redesign of Addison Lee’s mobile app in response to Uber, working on Costa Express’ interface for self-serve coffee bars, and developing a cloud photo management platform for Canon, codenamed Project 1709, to name just a few.

Outside of UX, Byron loves to travel, makes soap under his boutique skincare brand Clean As Folk, and is currently learning to dance Cuban salsa!
