Denver
Brian Curr is a Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, & Culture Improvement Professional with 16 (+) years of experience in large, mid-size, and startup organizations. He has worked in Higher Education, Commercial Music, Film/TV, and Tech/Software. Curr is currently the People Ops Business Partner at Uplight.
Uplight was formed on July 5, 2019 by the merging and acquisition of 6 companies. Each company had a different corporate culture, and it has been a challenge to bring them together to create a new culture unique to Uplight. There has not been a dull moment.
Outside of Uplight, he is an HR consultant for tech entrepreneurs, startup founders, and small business owners. Curr is very active in the Denver HR Tech scene, specifically with Startup Grind Denver, DisruptHR Denver, and HR UndergroundX. In 2019, he co-created (and co-produced) Mile High Pitch (a Denver/Boulder emerging startups pitch competition) with the WorkAbility Community Engagement team. Unfortunately, COVID put Mile High Pitch 2020 on hold this year.
Between 2004 to 2018, Curr was based in Boston and worked in the commercial music industry hubs of NYC, LA, and Nashville. He is a senior dog foster parent and hopes to open a senior dog rescue ranch in his retirement.
