Over the past 15 years, Bethany has gained extensive experience in design, strategy and education in the fashion industry. Following several years working as a designer for large companies on the East Coast she came out to San Francisco to pursue her MFA in Knitwear and Fashion Design from the Academy of Art University. Her degree led to exciting opportunities for presenting her debut collection at New York Fashion Week as well as researching and designing in Nepal on a prestigious Fulbright grant. Her experiences have included starting and running her own label, consulting and designing for up-and-coming brands, organizing fashion weeks, and teaching design at the Academy of Art. She currently is the Head Designer at Betabrand, a San Francisco-based online retailer focused on crowdsourced and crowdfunded designs. Her passions lie in the cross-sections of fashion, technology and sustainability to create innovative fashion for the future.
