Ben is an academic turned web engineer & serial entrepreneur. He received a PhD from UC Berkeley in 2011, and has over 20 peer-reviewed papers, proceedings, and patents. He went on to lead a series of technology startups, founding Berkeley biomedical diagnostic company Diassess, leading backend development at travel site Go Overseas, leading technology at Carrotmob & The Spring, and most recently founding POWr.io. He has a wide experience across the development stack and is excited to share his knowledge and experience with the General Assembly community.
