Aurelia Flores, Managing Member of Athena Digital Media Group, has been in the digital marketing field for nearly 10 years. She also practiced law – intellectual and corporate business law – for nearly 20 years after graduating from Stanford Law School in the mid-90’s.
She has over 20 years of experience building and supporting businesses – both from the legal and non-legal sides. As a business and intellectual property attorney, she helped structure deals for Angel and VC investments during the late 90’s dot-com boom. She has assisted small businesses in formation, launching and getting to profitability – including assisting in putting together strategic partnerships, writing business plans and obtaining SBA funding for companies.
She’s also worked in the mergers & acquisition space, getting insight into what makes a company a good acquisition target, and also seeing what can torpedo profitability. Aurelia worked at a big law firm, as well as served as a Fortune 500 company Assistant General Counsel.
From the marketing side, she focuses on small and medium-sized businesses, especially startups and tech entrepreneurs. She brings a unique perspective into business building and marketing. She assists Athena clients on the strategy and business consulting side, as well as marketing.
In 2016, Aurelia joined the Pipeline Angels network of women and non-binary femme investors. She now takes her knowledge into investing as an angel investor. She has a lot of experience looking at startups and seeing what works. On the digital marketing side, she loves assisting startup businesses in building and increasing their profitability by connecting with their ideal clients online.
Aurelia is especially committed to helping her clients change the world with their work. She is deeply committed to their goals of changing the face of angel investing and creating capital for innovative social entrepreneurs.
She regularly speaks on the power of digital marketing, and was a featured speaker at the Legal Digital Innovator conference at Howard University in 2016. She was a speaker during DC Startup Week, has served as a judge for pitches for TechStars, and serves as a mentor for new angel investors.
She has seen the evolution of how people do business online for over 20 years.
When not working, you can find Aurelia with her kids, or reading a good book. She loves YA and sci-fi, and is a Next Generation Trekkie.
