August Major and her partner, John DeWindt, founded and run John’s Juice. They started their company after a trip to Japan where they saw a vendor making dragon fruit juice inside of a dragon fruit. After a great deal of experimentation, they have come up with a business model to serve juice without cups. The fruits they are selling vary by market and weekend but include: honeydew melon, watermelon, pineapple, orange, dragon fruit, and grapefruit. It’s more than just the novelty of the container, they say they are focused on the quality of the juice. In eliminating plastic in our company's everyday use, John's Juice has, thus far, saved over 100,000 single use cups and plastic straws from ending up in our world's beautiful oceans + landfills. Johns Juice is currently run at various food and music festivals domestically.
