    Founder, Provenance

    New York City

Anthony Choe is the founder of Provenance, a growth-stage private investment firm focused on direct-to-consumer brand investments. Provenance uses statistically rigorous but computationally efficient methods to assess and add value to its investments, helping brands optimize the balance of growth, operating efficiency and brand authenticity.

Anthony has 22 years of investment experience in the consumer space. He has invested over $400 million in his career, generating $1.4 billion in returns for investors with no losses on new platform investments in the new millennium. Prior to founding Provenance, Anthony was a partner at Brentwood Associates, a leading middle-market private equity firm focused on the consumer space, where in 2005 he led Brentwood to become the first PE firm to focus exclusively on multichannel brands selling direct-to-consumer.

Anthony began his career as an analyst at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in New York in the mid-1990’s. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Harvard College, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics, magna cum laude. In addition to his investing activities, Anthony is a guest lecturer on private investing at the UCLA Anderson School of Business and is a member of YPO. He also serves as a board member and treasurer of CoachArt, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization that creates a transformative arts and athletics community for families impacted by childhood chronic illness.
