Anna Wolak
Like many data scientists, Anna came to the field almost by accident. With a background in materials science (and a degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, with stints at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne and the University of Tokyo), her work focused on developing stretchable electronics for wearable and implantable devices. Inspired by how powerful the data collected from these devices could someday be, Anna transitioned to a career in the tech industry as a software engineer before taking the plunge to data science. Having always been a big-picture, hands-on learner, Anna is excited to use GA's active learning concepts to help change the way technical skills are taught. Outside of the classroom, Anna enjoys cooking (particularly the science behind food processing), crafting with laser cutters, and hiking with her goldendoodle.
