Andy Sarroff is a Research Engineer at iZotope, Inc. in Cambridge, MA. Andy holds a BA in Music from Wesleyan University (2000); an MM in Music Technology from New York University (2009); and a PhD in Computer Science from Dartmouth College (2018) with a dissertation on "Complex Neural Networks for Audio." He has been a visiting researcher in the Speech & Audio group at Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories (MERL; 2017 & 2018), also in Cambridge, as well as Columbia University's Laboratory for the Recognition and Organization of Speech and Audio (LabROSA; 2015). He served on the board of directors of the International Society for Music Information Retrieval (ISMIR; 2015-2017). Andy's research interests include machine learning, machine listening and perception, and signal processing.
