Alfonso holds an MBA from Babson College, where he won the Dean's Leadership Award. He currently oversees corporate strategy and business development at the education technology Program Manager, Global Alumni. He is the co-founder of Blue Mayan Coffee, an international coffee trader, and wholesaler. In the past, he worked in the financial services industry in New York, focusing on sustainability and governance practices, and asset management. Alfonso's experiences also include managing family office investments in A.I. technology, Real Estate both locally and at an international level, lighting technology, pet supplies, logistics, and eSports.
He is a member of the Bar Association of Guatemala. His legal experience includes fraud and insolvency, as well as anti-corruption cases against Guatemalan authorities. He also served as an advisor to congresswoman Nineth Montenegro, and also ran for Congress in 2011 in Guatemala. Outside of his professional training, Alfonso helped create, and still hold the position of an advisor in various youth, social and impact organizations in Guatemala focusing on transparency and the rule of law.
