Adi Mendiola Barreto

Consultant and Speaker

Online

Adi (ahh-dee) Mendiola Barreto (they/he) is a 2nd generation Mexican and Puerto Rican, trans and non-binary, speaker, advisor, consultant, and strategist.

Balancing vulnerability, authenticity, data, and reality, Adi often uses storytelling to help challenge and shape people’s perspectives on LGBTQ+ issues. Core to Adi’s work is designing spaces that make it easier for trans people to exist. Every workshop or keynote they offer includes tangible action steps to help people advocate for and on trans issues. Outside of this work, Adi founded Committed to Community, an educational workshop series for people interested in healing their relationship to money as a means to redistribute it. [The series unpacks the relationships between white supremacy, scarcity, and hoarding of wealth as an emergent strategy to help communities survive outside of institutionalized abandonment.] Adi deeply desires a world where all of our needs are met, where we are seen, valued, and celebrated as our most authentic selves.

Adi offers various keynotes on trans-inclusion, active allyship, and even offers 1-1 peer mentorship. When they’re not working, you can find them dancing or eating salsa.
