Adam Markowitz is a designer, maker and architect that has trained at schools of design and fine furniture making in Copenhagen, Hobart and the USA. He has exhibited at Tent London, ICFF New York and locally in Australia. Adam's work revels in the intersection between traditional fine woodcraft and contemporary digital practice and not only can he sharpen and tune a handplane, he can also operate a CNC, and believes both are critical to contemporary craft practice. Adam co-teaches Ex-Lab, the experimental furniture design program at the Melbourne School of Design, which has a focus on experimenting with materials and process to drive design. His furniture practice offers small batch productions as well as custom one-off commissions. He currently works out of the Arts House Meat Market in North Melbourne.
