Think about it, at 18 we’re told to pick what you want to be and then you just run with it, well what happens when you realise that you don’t want to do the thing you spent years perfecting just isn’t for you?

We know it sounds scary, so we’ve gathered a panel of experts who’ve, landed their dream gig and lived to tell the tale.

Aravinth Baskaran Photo

Senior Data Scientist, The LEGO Group

Aravinth is a Senior Data Scientist at The LEGO Group with a background in mathematics. Previously working in consulting, he has worked on projects with varying asks across a number of industries before transitioning to his current role 3 years ago. Within his current role he has been involved in developing Demand Forecasting solutions and products and now focuses on business questions in the Shopper and Consumer Engagement space.

Joshua Argyle Photo

Lead Data Scientist, Freyda

Joshua is a senior data scientist with experience developing and implementing bespoke machine learning systems across a range of sectors including finance, retail, health and government. Prior to Freyda, he led the data science team at Equiniti Data where he developed a fully automated machine learning platform. Joshua holds a PhD in Computational Astrophysics from the University of St. Andrews.

Yannis Skoupras Giannikis Photo

Data Scientist, Amazon

Yannis has a diverse academic background, ranging from Electrical Engineering and Computer Science to Sustainable Energy and Finance. He started his professional career in the energy trading space, where he delved into building AI-based trading strategies. He then moved on to Amazon to design a rich variety of business-oriented ML solutions that ensure the best experience for the millions of Amazon's EU customers. In accordance to his studies and interests, he is becoming more involved in sustainability-related projects that support Amazon's climate pledge and mission for a green future.
