Roger has represented companies in a variety of industries, including clean tech, internet, life sciences, entertainment and new media, sports, real estate, retail and mobile devices and applications. Practicing since 1984, Roger’s background includes work with prominent San Francisco Bay area law firms as well as Milbank, Tweed, Hadley and McCloy in New York City. Roger is an adjunct professor at the Golden Gate University Law School Tax program (Corporate, International, Property Transactions) and is a frequent speaker, writer, radio guest, blogger and panelist for bar associations, CPA organizations, and business groups. Ms. Riel-Carden regularly speaks and writes on AgTech matters for private and corporate venture funds, international cooperatives, incubators and accelerators, university collaborations, trade organizations, and industry events. Prior to joining Royse Law Firm, Ms. Riel-Carden worked both in the startup market and public sector on regulatory compliance, licensing, and freedom to operate transactions related to commercializing different agricultural technologies.

The Co-founder and Chairman of Cascadia Capital, Michael manages the firm and co-leads the firm’s Energy & Applied Technology, and Food & Agribusiness practices.  Michael has been involved in over 100 transactions while at Cascadia Capital. Prior to co-founding Cascadia, he served as a Managing Director at Lehman Brothers responsible for global equity sales and equity syndicate. He also served on the firm’s Equity Commitment Committee, Equity Syndicate Committee and Private Equity Commitment Committee.

Before joining Lehman Brothers, Michael was a Principal with Morgan Stanley & Company, where he was responsible for divisional global product and risk management and was a member of the division’s Operating Committee. He has been involved in numerous equity financing transactions for both public and private companies.

Michael holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Washington and an M.B.A. in International Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

He advises clients on federal and state taxes, control structures, cost analyses, and projections.

Prior to teaming with Global Good, Marie was the CEO of an NGO active in sustainable agriculture and climate change mitigation in Africa, India and the Americas. She was also the national R&D Manager for Elders in Australia, the Food Security Theme Lead at National ICT Australia with a portfolio including agriculture, water and renewable energy resources, and before that, Deputy CEO of Cambia, an NGO in which she led the team that launched the public-good website Patent Lens, biological sequence search tools, status and family information, and expansion from a U.S. agriculture database to all patent categories and multiple jurisdictions, for enablement of inventors and development organizations to compile landscapes from public disclosures. Marie is an inventor on more than 80 patents and patents pending. She has co-owned and consulted for SME businesses in three countries, and worked in private industry leading several research groups, including one that pioneered the only scalable techniques for important species in an area of forestry technology. She earned a PhD in Plant Sciences (Cornell University), an MBA (USC) and two bachelor’s degrees with honors, in Biology and in Modern Languages (Humboldt State University and Universität Heidelberg), and registrations as a patent agent, professional forester, and IT project manager. She is an adjunct Professor at the University of Western Australia and a Fellow of the University of Melbourne.
