About this workshop

Being responsible for imagining, designing, or communicating digital product ideas and user experiences is no easy feat. Learning how to turn complex concepts into simple visual forms can help you evaluate ideas, products, and features quickly and effectively, before you jump into expensive pixels and code.

This workshop will cover how to weed out bad ideas before they progress while pursuing ones that are stickier, more engaging, and ultimately more impactful. Learn how to use sketching as a means to communicate and experiment with a multitude of ideas. It is also an awesome kickstarter to other areas such as graphic facilitation.

You do not need any prior experience to join us- we welcome everyone from beginners to seasoned professionals looking to revisit concepts.

We’ll cover:

  • sketching figures and faces to illustrate user journeys
  • sketching basic objects and icons using layered sketching techniques
  • expanding your visual vocabulary and harnessing visual metaphor
  • sketching conceptual models, storyboards, and other time-based illustrations
  • putting it all together to sketch the user journey
