Want a more compelling pitch for customers, investors or prospective employers?
Crafting a great pitch is more than showcasing your product, market opportunity or expertise. Great pitches, the ones that lead to action, are constructed in a way that brings together the human need to ‘fight or flight’, with an actionable solution.
In this Pitch Lab workshop, we’ll discuss common mistakes made when pitching and ways you can avoid them. We’ll also dive into the science of storytelling and why the hero's journey is more than just a Hollywood structure.

Jay Mays is a former standup comedian and veteran comedy producer. From his underdog beginnings in dive bars to being awarded Best Comedy Venue in Miami, Jay has produced live comedy events for some of the biggest names in entertainment including Viacom, Soho House & Live Nation. As co-founder of Pitch Lab, Jay helps professionals present their ideas better through actionable feedback from an expert panel of stand-up comedians, improv coaches, and professional storytellers.
Comedians live or die by their delivery. Improv performers soar or crash based on their ability to control a room. These professionals possess skills and experience that the rest of us in the corporate world badly need but are rarely given.
Pitch Lab is a “PowerPoint Comedy Show” where you'll learn to present everything better. Four volunteers present in front of a live audience to an expert panel that includes a stand-up comedian, improv coach and professional storyteller. Presenters get actionable feedback on their delivery, room command and story telling, and we all learn by listening in.
The presentations are made by Pitch Lab and purposefully light so that presenters can focus on technique rather than content.
We all need these skills. Whether it's pitching your boss for a raise, giving a sprint demo or presenting to a customer, most of us are required to be professional presenters whether we like it or not.
Plans change. We get it. But if you can't make it to a class/workshop, please email us at least 7 days before the scheduled event date. No refunds will be given after this timeframe.
