User Experience Design Instructor,
Shilpa is a Senior innovation designer with experience and accomplishments in setting up and running UX research departments within small and large firms. A big-picture thinker with hands on experience leading and performing design research using ethnographic studies, she believes in applying her passion for design and empathy for user needs to create meaningful user experiences across multiple channels. She is also a classically trained architect and interior designer able to apply user-centered design principles to space design for retail, restaurants, and workspaces.
UI & UX Designer,
Erica Garcia is a knowledge hungry designer at 8th Light who enjoys tackling every part of the design process - from user research, testing, visual design and implementation. When not designing, you can find her with her dog Maverick, mentoring in the community, and stretching her comfort zone by trying new things.

Kevin Krueger is an accomplished brand communication designer.
Formerly a partner in internationally recognized design firm SamataMason / smbolic, his work for a diverse range of clients such as the PGA Tour, Whirlpool, Devon Energy, International Truck, and Motorola has been honored internationally in numerous competitions and publications including AIGA Communication Graphics, The Art Directors Club, The Type Directors Club, Communication Arts, Applied Arts, Graphis and How Magazine.
A graduate of Ohio University, Kevin is a former Chicago Chapter board member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA), a frequent lecturer at design schools and organizations, and has served as a juror for numerous design competitions.
He’s also a co-founder of the Cusp Conference and PowerPlayer. Cusp is an annual conference about ‘the design of everything.’ The PowerPlayer is a system that captures and visualizes feedback to help players play and coaches coach.
Kamaria Campbell UX Consultant/Digital Strategist; MBA Candidate at Chicago Booth
Kamaria began her career as a usability analyst for ForeSee, a customer experience analytics firm located in Ann Arbor, MI. She later joined IBM as an Information Architect/User Experience consultant in the Chicago IBM Interactive Experience and Mobile Design studio.
Active in the user experience community, Kamaria organized the first World Information Architecture Day for the city of Chicago, served as a co-chair of the Michigan Chapter of ACM SIGCHI, and currently serves as the Book Review editor for the User Experience Professionals Association magazine. She has spoken at the state of Michigan’s World Usability Day celebration, Chicago Camps UX Camp and Prototype Camp, and the User Experience Professionals Association’s annual conference. In 2014, she was recognized as one of the top 50 techies to know in Chicago by Crain’s Chicago Business.
Kamaria is studying for her MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business (Class of 2017). She holds a bachelor’s degree from Duke University in Computer Science and a master’s degree from the University of Michigan School of Information with a specialization in Human-Computer Interaction.
