Join us for a panel discussion and documentary screening of Go Against the Flow, all supporting the next generation of female entrepreneurs.
Go Against the Flow is more than a documentary film. It’s a movement that aims to empower young women with the support of those that came before them to swim upstream and create their dream jobs. Go Against the Flow is a “handbook for the next generation of entrepreneurs,” according to Sarah F. Wood, co-founder and co-CEO of Unruly.
Founder Charu Sharma has brought together the wisdom of top women entrepreneurs from Cloudflare, Getaround, Mightybell, Kabam, Zady, Zinepak, Women Who Code, Remedy and Rockhealth, to share their personal experiences with:
The evening will begin with a screening of the film, followed by a panel discussion with top female entrepreneurs and led by Charu Sharma.
In a country where women still only earn 77% of the wages of men in identical roles and are continually underrepresented in fields such as STEM, politics and medicine, there is no better time for women to pave their own paths to success!

Bridesmaid for Hire
Jen Glantz is the founder of the Bridesmaid for Hire, a business started in 2014 from a viral Craigslist ad. Jen has told the story of starting her business to over 500 press outlets, and continues to serve as a bridesmaid expert for media outlets around the world. She is the author of the Amazon best-selling book, All My Friends are Engaged and her second book, Always a Bridesmaid (For Hire), published by Simon and Schuster, is available now on Amazon. Jen created the website, The Things I Learned From, in 2010 as a platform to inspire, motivate, and share personal stories with strangers all around the world. She's a mentor for young women and a hired speaker for professional conferences around the country.

Charu is a US-based Indian explorer, entrepreneur, and author. With 5 National Awards, expeditions to all 7 continents, over 600 stage shows, and three books in progress, this prodigy was enlisted as a "Power Woman alongside such notables as Oprah Winfrey, Sonia Gandhi, and Melinda Gates by Youth Incorporated magazine in March 2012.
Charu built two-award winning startup companies out of her dorm room before getting recruited to LinkedIn. She has since dedicated her time to bringing together audacious women entrepreneurs through her book, documentary film-Go Against The Flow and the Huffington Post interview series. Charu’s goal is to inspire more millennial women to build their own startup companies.
A lifelong entrepreneur, Courtney Hurst is Founding Partner of Metis Communications, a strategic communications firm. She is also a restaurant owner and commercial fishing business operator in her hometown of Provincetown, Mass. At Metis, Courtney leads by example as a true business partner to her clients, inspiring teams to take calculated risks that move their businesses forward. She is a member of the board of trustees for the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum and a member of the Business Associates Club. She received her bachelor’s degree in communications from Loyola University New Orleans.
